Planning a destination wedding was so heavy and overwhelming, that once we decided to commit to MaryMe, things just fell into place. Experiência negativa: If you are looking for a wedding planner I suggest you find one that allows you to pay vendors directly. Here’s an example: Mary me charged us for booking a brunch place 1078.89 EUR. Later we found out that the brunch place charged Mary Me just 252 EUR for that. We asked multiple times what 827EUR difference covered but never got a straight answer. We were curious how much they padded other payments but all the other vendors refused to tell us how much their services cost us! Had we known about this opaque pricing ahead of time, we would’ve hired someone else.

Experiência negativa: Si estáis buscando un equipo profesional y fiable para organizar vuestra boda en Portugal, NO contratéis a Mary Me. La experiencia con ellos fue un desastre de principio a fin y me siento en la obligación de advertir a futuros clientes, especialmente a parejas extranjeras que confían en ellos para organizar su gran día. Desde el principio, la comunicación fue pésima. Era casi imposible ponerse en contacto con ellos durante el proceso de planificación, y cuando respondían, apenas eran útiles. Para colmo, en lugar de enviar muestras reales de lo que ofrecían, nos mandaban imágenes de internet o generadas por IA, lo que ya nos hizo sospechar de su profesionalidad. El día antes de la boda, ni siquiera hicieron un check-in ni una revisión de última hora para asegurarse de que todo estaba en orden. Pero lo peor llegó el día de la boda: no apareció nadie de su equipo por la mañana para coordinar nada. No fue hasta unas dos horas antes del evento que apareció una persona, Filipa, que además parecía completamente perdida, hasta el punto de pedir ayuda a las damas de honor para organizar cosas. Sinceramente, este servicio parece una estafa para parejas extranjeras que desean casarse en Portugal. Además, borran reseñas negativas para que solo se vean comentarios positivos en su web, lo que es una clara señal de falta de transparencia. Si queréis evitar estrés, incertidumbre y problemas en un día tan importante, buscad otra empresa. Mary Me no es de fiar. Otro detalle feo de Mary Me: Ellos de Mary Me perdieron un detalle de la familia del novio de ucrania que les mandó para que lo tuvieran en el día de la boda.Fue una figura tradiciónal que viajó durante una guerra para que estuviera con ellos en la boda y Mary Me ni tuvo el detalle de guardar las cosas bien en un día ya estresante y emocionante para los novios y los invitados. Claro que durante el día todo parece super bien pero reflejando en todo esta empresa en un autentico DESASTRE y es mejos quedarse lejos lejos de ellos.

Experiência negativa: Was pretty disappointed with the first call. As soon as she heard our (very early estimated) budget she tried to rush me off the phone without telling me that we clearly needed to increase it. I felt she was rude by suggesting that we look at farms rather than giving me guidance. She flat out turned down our business.

Experiência positiva: We live in USA, We hired them around September 2023 Along the 12 months working with “Mary me” we got Responsiveness as far as email communication. They provided us with Kind and respectful feedback and Precise invoicing Downside: Poor execution and coordination: Instead of having a Project Manager in to communicate with, we received emails from each person doing a “piece of the pie”. Since there was no a PM overseeing the whole process, there were a lot of discrepancies along the way, and many improvisation the day of the actual wedding. GROOM AND BRIDE FOUND THEMSELVES IN THE MORNING OF THE WEDDING A PLACE FOR THE CEREMONY. WE BOTH LITERALLY SET THE CHAIRS. We arrived in Porto 5 days before the wedding, (first time prior to the ceremony) with a busy schedule. 1- visiting the venue (2 hours from Porto) and food trial. There was no representation from “Mary me” that day to introduce us the venue and going over the wedding details. We were welcomed by the owner of the venue.WE SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH “MARY ME, we have no contract with the venue’s owner. 2-The day of the wedding, a team of two girls from MM arrived 2 hours before the event, and left the venue almost 7 hours later. Both girls did their best to accommodate us in all situations. Since “Mary me” arrived just two hours before the event, the following happened: 3- it was not accurately arranged conducting all guests towards the cocktail hour. 4- Sending the inspiration pictures and information was a waist. No many of the songs that we had in the list were played by the DJ.The wedding cake was nowhere near to the one previously approved. The flower arrangement (vine-barrels) were supposed to have candles in the bottom as the inspiration picture. However, not a single candle around the barrels were placed. 5- I got a reminder from “MM” for a makeup trial on sept 16 at 10 am in Porto. Precisely that same day at 10 am we had to arrive at the venue for the food trial (2 hours north from Porto) In other words “MM” made two different appointments for us at the same time for two different events. I ended up having no makeup trial. 6-Never before the wedding was asked a checklist of how we wanted the pictures (inspiration pictures, the order of the shooting, who wanted to be included in the photo section, how many pictures inside and outside, etc) We ended up asking for some poses at the time of the photo shooting session. I regret having no pictures of the inside the mansion nether around its beautiful terrace. I was so stressful that I was not able to coordinate any more, that’s why I forgot to ask for those pics. 8- No previous coordination with the venue for a room for us with enough natural light since makeup and pictures were going to be taken in there. So We got the darkest room of all. 9- The advertised Dinner Menu included supper after midnight. A table full of desserts was provided instead of what was written on the menu. The good part was that the guests were so absorbed taking their own pictures, enjoying the wonderful experience, that none knew what was happening. Only us knew. You got to be willing to accept quite few imperfections and improvisation in return of having the whole Portuguese’s experience. The “Check and Verify” concept did not apply to our planning. ENOUGH COORDINATION, CLOSE TO THE EVENT, WERE NOT MADE We provided a phone number of a friend (who was available in Portugal 7 days before de wedding) for “MM” to reach out for coordination before the event. We had a very intimate wedding with 27 people including us. Wondering how would have been having a wedding with 100 guests. We paid 7,600 Euros just for wedding planning. We are very satisfied with the saxophone and the singer’s performance as well as with The makeup Artist.And of course, Maria Manuel, Varzea’s Owner.

Experiência fantástica: Mary Me are the best planners you could ask for. Do not hesitate in using them, you 100% will not regret it. They made our wedding perfect from start to finish. They were meticulous on every single detail, found incredible suppliers to being there to make sure everything went perfect on the day. My now wife and I cannot speak highly enough of them. I am British and my wife Portuguese and they dealt with everything for us from the very beginning. Massive thank you to everyone at Mary Me, but in particular to the incredible Alexandra and Filipa. You won’t find anyone better to plan your wedding in Portugal.

I would like to specially shout out Filipa from the team who helped me plan an amazing proposal in Porto. The team went above and beyond to answer any Questions and concerns I had. Since I was from Canada I was having some troubles connecting with the right people and vendors. Filipa and the team gave me so many wonderful ideas and suggestions of local vendors I can connect with to bring my idea to life. I can’t recommend them enough if you are ever looking for wedding planners in Portugal.

Experiência fantástica: Carlota and the team at Mary Me were amazing! My now husband and I are based in the United States and got married in Algarve, Portugal. Carlota was there every step of the way to plan and help take any stress off us. She was always quick to respond to our many questions and inquiries. Especially being in a different country, it was great having someone we could rely on and trust. Our wedding day was beautiful and we owe that to Carlota and the team! Couldn't have asked for a better planner!!

Experiência fantástica: We are an Australian/Canadian couple that live in Toronto. We wanted somewhere special to bring people from all over the world together and with people spending a lot money on flights, we needed everything to be personalized to us and special for all. We reached out to a few companies before settling on MaryMe and found them not to be very responsive. We had an initial conversation with Mary before getting to meet Ana. From the start, Ana was attentive, responsive and never made us feel like clients more like old friends with her warm smile and very personable approach. We got married at the Yeatman hotel and had to save money where we could. In doing so, we asked Ana every question possible and asked her to look into a whole lot! For the most part she was able to get us the answers she knew we were looking for however when she couldn't, she found other options that she knew we would like as again, she really took the time to get to know us. Ana kept us on track, making sure she would contact us in advance when she needed answers to our preferences. A couple of weeks before the wedding she was in contact as much as we needed assuring us everything was in place. Then the big day rolled around, June 15, 2023. Ana met us at the Yeatman and brought her colleague Margarita who was also a delight! We spent the week leading up to the wedding in Portugal with friends and family, taking Ana's recommendations on what to do (amazing again) and organizing 20-40 people to meet us out which was the only time we felt stress. So watching Ana and Margarita take care of the day, keeping us paced, organizing photos, the MC, the DJ and everything really put us at ease as she was on top of everything! The day went off without a hitch and everyone mentioned how beautiful it was and that there were no lulls, everyone had a wonderful time which meant the world to us. People from all over the world were able to connect on a joyous occasion that really flowed. We have spoken with Ana since and have agreed that if she comes to Canada we will truly enjoy catching up. Once again, thank you Ana! You really made a special day for us magical and we could not imagine trusting someone else with such a special occasion.

Experiência fantástica: We couldn’t have pulled off our wedding without Ana and the team at MaryMe. We're a NZ/Irish couple living in London and really wanted a sunny wedding with delicious food! They helped us plan our wedding right from finding our amazing venue to the brunch the day after and were accommodating to all our requests. A lovely young staff member who started with us left a month before our wedding which caused a bit of stress but Ana did a heroic job in picking up the final tasks and bookings and meant we had a fabulous day with friends and family. Ana was there until the very end getting the last of us in our taxis and had some great suggestions during the night to help things flow beautifully.

Because we live in the US and we wanted a wedding in my home country, Portugal, it was essential we had someone to help us.
